What a mystery! It really did fool this large gathering of 32 - we went through all 7 rounds of the mystery and no one really guessed "who dun'' it"! I suspect that if there were only 14-16 participants, someone would have guessed sooner. But the more the merrier!

We had a blast.  I decorated my basement, making a kind-of maze for the guests to walk through the "dungeons" to get to the party room.  Everything was covered in black table clothes and tons of spider webs.  It was a lot of work, but it looked great. I made chili and cornbread and pasta with a veggies red sauce. I had 17 people, so I had to create 3 characters which wasn''t too hard, and I got to add some pretty funny dialogue. We ended up going around the table to read all the clues because we had so many people.  It worked out pretty well and we all had a lot of fun.  No one guessed the murderer, but no one minded.  This game was totally worth it and I can''t wait to start planning my next party!

An excellent product which was better than we could possibly have expected.  The ability to customise was useful as we personalised bits to suit our guests.
We had a group of 9 and used one of the "optional" characters.  No-one had any idea she was an extra and actually got accused of the murder with good reasons.
Even though 4 of the group had never done a murder party before they soon got the hang of things.
We did a couple of rounds before dinner, and one between each course.  Overall it lasted about about 6 hours and everyone said it was the best 6 hours they had ever spent.

The only extra thing we did, which worked very well, was to replace much of the scene-setting script from the butler with a video from the host of the party (who was sleeping prior to being murdered) made by a couple of amateur dramatic friends of ours.

We had 13 people for this party and we had an excellent time. Everybody was told ahead of time to come and stay in character and most people did. Nobody solved the murder but there was a lot of good guesses. We are planning on purchasing more and making this a regular get together for all of us.

The game takes a long time, more than the two hours I had planned on so everything was a little rushed.  There is a comment about food by Shabby that should be moved to earlier in the game I think.  I had planned on bringing out stuff on that cue but my guests were too hungry to wait.  It was a pretty good game; very easy to use.  Nobody guessed the murderer correctly but everyone seemed to have a good time.

We had a great time.  We played it for a Halloween/Birthday party and everyone went all out with their costumes and participation.  It was so much fun.  We've already started making plans for another party.

We had a blast.  The characters were a scream, and everyone came in comstume.  I had one guest (Celia Fate) who did not show up, and one extra guest, which I knew about ahead of time...so I created a new character - Eva Fangoria, lady of the night.  Jack was one of her frequent callers, and she fell for him.  She told him how she felt, but the feelings were unreturned.  She was not invited to the contest but forged her invitation so she could crash the party and see who Jack's new flame was.  Haha.  I got great pictures and will defintely do this again.

We held this game just before Halloween.  The place was decorated to suit the Vampire/Ghostly theme, which was easy at this time of year.  Everyone came in fab costumes and brought all the relevant props.  We played this over a sit down meal and what a laugh we all had.  Of course the wine, beer and spirits flowed and by the end we were all very merry.  I made a vodka jelly monster head and managed to get skull shaped wine glasses.  The scene was set by other wall hangings, table dressings and sound effects and made for a really good atmosphere. We even managed to get a blow up coffin, complete with body which we dressed as Jack Ular (Dracula)and he was obviously the body for the evening. We served blood as a pre dinner drink which was actually champagne (or the cheaper stuff, i.e. Cava) with a drop of natural red food colouring.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this and would do it again without hesitation.  This was my third murder party and they just get better.  If you're thinking of trying it, you most definately should.

Death of a Vampire was a funny, well written murder mystery! 14 players along with 2 in house detectives played, and not one person guessed "who done it." This is one Halloween party my guests will never forget. Everyone came in costume and brought with them their imaginations and sence of humor. Even one guest in paticular who usually keeps to herself at get togethers came out of her shell for the party. Having to come in character was very liberating for her. This type of party really gets the people involved and interested in the story line.

My advice for anyone who wants to do this mystery is have your food themed. For instance, we served meat loaf that was molded to look like rats. We had bat wings which were really chicken wings. Use your imagination and be creative. There are plenty of cookbooks  that illustrate funny and spooky food fit for Castle Alucard. Also, we didn't break character until after the reveal. I decorated the house with bats and cobwebs. I even had haunted house music in the back ground.

I totally recommend this mystery. It is funny, easy to play, the characters are all great.

This is a fun mystery, especially for Halloween.  This is also my second Host-Party.com mystery that we performed.  The evening was a success.  This is a great first mystery to try, especially around the Halloween season, as you can find plenty of props and decorations.  I decked out our game area to look like an old, musty castle and placed many motion-activated gadgets as well as photos and candles, and lots of cobwebs.  Dinner was a simply, tasty, yet disgustingly presented buffet.  All my guests really got into the spirit of things.  It was a lot of fun, amusing characters and lots of laughs.  What every mystery party should be!  The solution is simple when revealed, but no one guests the answers.  Yet, they all had a great time.  Thank you for another successful party!

Ace mystery party! I served just finger foods and drinks, and discussed general game play, about ad-libbing and characters etc, and then gave out the first clues.
The mystery went for a little over 1 1/2 hours, with much talking and speculating. I had 9 guests including myself. This game was the first I have got from the site, but provided much laughter with clever little nuances.
Brilliant game, much recommended. Can't wait for the next party!

We had a fantastic time.  Everyone really got into their characters... great costumes and cool props.  The guests themselves are really the key to a great party, so choose your guests wisely.  Another thing that really set the mood was the decorations and food.  I transformed my home into the west wing at vampireland, using black lights, cobwebs, old antique photos, etc.  I also served lots of creepy food, the biggest hit was the bleeding heart(recipe listed on this website).  Overall, the game was easy to follow.  I wanted to play along with my guests so I did not read the clues ahead of time and  things still flowed nicely.  If you are a funloving person this is something you will really enjoy.  We are already talking about our next murder mystery event.

We had a great time!  I wrote myself in as "Lottie Bached-Casis" - the investigator.  That made the game run more smoothly - all of the clues were handed over to me and I read them and put them on the investigator's table.  It also helped because I knew what was supposed to happen in case anything went astray a little.  We went a little overboard planning - made a casket to hold the food, made a dead head jello mold, had bats all over, fake blood, went all out.  That helped to get people into theor character.  We also made sure to invite friends that would definately show and who would get into their roles (the butler rented a tux for the night!).  We held the party a couple of weeks after Halloween and was able to get all of the props half off.

This was the first downloadable murder mystery I have done. It was lots of fun and the added bonus off being able to share so much of the information before the game was really nice. We had 14 players total for this game and everyone had a ball.

We actually did this game twice!  We had to add an additional character the first time and the second time we only had the eight main characters.  We had so much fun and so did everyone else that we decided to do a murder mystery game every year!

We had a great time last year doing the party (as hosts) we are once again doing this party but inviting different people.  Everyone had a blast and really got into their characters, even the shy ones that we didn't think would. Everyone came in costumes, they were so easy to come up with and usually stuff from around the house.  Great party and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I strongly agree with Stacy Spitzack and Nate Hillson above. I didn't know that this game was rated M, but Stacy made some changes and it was perfect for us 13 year olds.

A wonderful game and a great evening.  It was a great ice breaker for our families to really get to know each other.  The characters and clues led to an eventfull night with a lot of fun and fright.

This mystery is a great time. The clues pointing to the murder are there but hidden very well. Fanastic party for Halloween. This mystery is for adults, but with some changes to the clues, it was a great party for 13-year olds on Halloween. The characters were interesting and fun to play. Costumes were easy for the kids to come up with. Overall, this mystery makes for a great party.

The party was awesome... I run a haunted house every year, but have not had the time to recreate the spook world this year. This is why I chose Vampireland. I had the property (theme park) and the palce was decorated to the hilt. Everyone came in character and played their roles to the max. We want to take this show on the road and preform for other groups. I'll promote this game!

This party seemed almost like the real thing. I was the murderer, and I was able to act so that almost no one suspected me. Great game!!!

The game was excellent.  I do wish that I had read everything beforehand though, as things got a bit muddled at one point.  I was afraid that reading the documents beforehand would ruin my fun, but I am sure it wouldn't have!  I will definitely be playing another of your games soon!

The party went well... (The characters) were fun and easy to find outfits for.  When we tried to guess who it was only two people figured it out.  The person who played the murder did a fantastic job of lieing and misdircted people away from him.  When it looked like we were going acuse him he redirected the attention to some one else's motive.  Overall it was a lot of fun and we do want to do it again.

I picked this one because I loved the characters!  They were great and even the shy people really got into it... Everyone loved it, it was well thought out, easy to follow instructions, and again, the characters were the best!  Thanks again!  3 stars!!!

The characters in this game are great.  They are easy to find costumes for, and everyone at my party really got into their characters.  The motives were all clearly defined too.  But if you want a real mystery to solve, this might not be the mystery for you.  There wasn't a lot in the way of clues that clearly eliminated certain characters or clearly led to the real murderer. But the party was still tons of fun!!
