Hey man, come and spend some time at the Happy Earth Commune where there's peace, love...and murder. (what a bummer) Big Daddy has gathered everyone together to groove to some tunes and peace out in each other's company. Poisoned tofu? Who'd have guessed? That '60s Murder is a light, fun mystery including a Dance Groove-Off and Trivia Challenge. Can you think of a groovier way to spend an evening?

It's the hippest way to celebrate the '60s - dancing, trivia and solving a strange murder!

Reviews

It was a fun party. The characters and costumes made it a lot of fun. With record players, hippie decorations, AND candy and sodas from the 60s, the theme worked out great. However, I found it difficult to plan the party. I feel like the layout was very confusing. For example, in round 3, I had a very difficult time trying to figure out who spoke after who. I also couldn't edit the PDF which became very frustrating and forced me to make a Word document. And some characters (i.e. Francis and Stone) should have played a bigger role. Those two characters did not seem to have a very important story and I feel as though my friends playing those characters missed out on some of the excitement. I don't want to discourage anyone from purchasing this game. I just think there are a few flaws that need repair. Over all, the experience was so great! We all had a ton of fun.

Characters


 Big Daddy
head of the commune and the victim

Big Daddy showed up at the Happy Earth Commune approximately six months ago. Since then he has proved to be a good leader, but mysteriously insisted on a lock for his bedroom door.

Piggy
the big eater

Piggy got his nickname because he is always hungry. He arrived at the commune soon after Big Daddy and quickly became his closest companion.

Rosemary
the communal cook

Rosemary has always prided herself on her cooking. The only person ever allowed into the kitchen is Greenleaves (who brings in the fresh vegetables). Like many cooks, she has a temper.

Greenleaves
the communal gardener

Greenleaves loves to be outside and garden. She grows all the food that is eaten at the Happy Earth Commune and is familiar with every plant or tree.

Rocco
the rock musician

Rocco spends his time with his guitar composing new rock songs. He loves all music and is trying to talk Shakespeare into writing lyrics for his melodies.

Brad
the unexpected visitor

Brad is a clean-cut good guy. His car broke down outside the Happy Earth commune a few days ago which is why he and Janet are present this evening.

Janet
the unexpected visitor

Janet is a good girl who never likes to get her hands dirty. She is looking forward to marrying Brad and is uncomfortable with the free and easy ways of the commune.

Shakespeare
the poet

Shakespeare spends his time writing haiku poetry. He says he finds it hard to concentrate on the real world, but every good writer is a good observer. He feels emotions very deeply.

Andromeda
the psychic

Andromeda has always been proud of her psychic abilities - even if all her predictions don't always come true!

Rainbow
Big Daddy's girlfriend

Rainbow is Big Daddy's girlfriend. She insists that she isn't interested in marriage.

Harmony
the actress

Harmony left Hollywood when she didn't become a movie star. She still spends her days, though, dreaming of becoming the biggest star that the world has ever seen.

Stone
the communal handyman

Stone is the one who fixes everything around the commune. He knows everyone's secrets.

Storm
Big Daddy's assistant

Storm was supposed to be the new head of the commune but Big Daddy's arrival changed all that. He insists that he is perfectly happy being an assistant.

Moonbeam
Andromeda's helper

Moonbeam is Andromeda's biggest admirer and does anything to make her life easier. Moonbeam is known to pop up where least expected.

Francis
the animal lover

Francis loves all animals and is a passionate vegetarian. Francis spends every day looking after the animals in the commune and is more comfortable around them than around people.
